Privacy at Spades.now

You can play every game, every variant and every daily deal on Spades.now without ever handing over a single piece of personal information. Your wins, streaks and settings live in your own browser, an account is entirely optional, and we collect only what we genuinely need to run the site. We never sell your data - full stop.

Effective date: July 1, 2026. This policy applies to spades.now.

The short version: play as a guest and your stats stay on your device. Sign in only if you want leaderboards and cross-device sync. Cookies are used purely to keep you signed in and to protect forms. No data is ever sold, and you can ask us to delete your account at any time.

1. What we collect

Your stats, saved in your browser

Your bids, wins, best scores, streaks and in-progress games are stored in your browser's local storage, on your own device. This never leaves your browser unless you sign in and choose to sync it, and clearing your browser data erases it.

Optional accounts and Google sign-in

Accounts are optional. If you register with an email and password, we store your email, your chosen username, and your password as a secure hash - never in plain text. If instead you sign in with Google, we receive only the basic profile information Google shares to confirm who you are (such as your email address and name); we never see your Google password. Accounts power leaderboards, daily-deal streaks and multiplayer history.

Gameplay records

For signed-in players and for anyone who enters a daily deal or a multiplayer duel, we record scores, bids made and results so we can build leaderboards and personal statistics.

Messages you send us

If you write to us through the contact form, we keep the name, email, subject and message you provide, solely so we can read your note and reply.

Basic technical logs

Standard server logs record IP addresses, browser user agents and request timestamps for security and performance. Logs are kept for a limited period and are not used to profile individual players.

2. How we use it

  • To run the games, manage optional accounts, and display leaderboards
  • To keep daily deals and multiplayer duels fair and in sync
  • To reply to messages sent through the contact form
  • To detect cheating and keep leaderboard scores legitimate
  • To fix bugs and keep the site fast

We do not use your data for advertising profiles, and we never sell it to anyone.

3. Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Full details are in our cookie policy.

4. When we share data

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We share it only in narrow cases:

  • Service providers: hosting and email-delivery partners acting on our behalf, and Google for the optional sign-in you initiate
  • Legal requirements: where required by applicable law or valid legal process

5. How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is active. Gameplay records tied to a deleted account are anonymized rather than erased, to preserve leaderboard integrity. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry. Local-storage stats are entirely under your control and never expire on our side.

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these, reach us through the contact form.

7. Children

Spades.now is suitable for all ages, but accounts are intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13; playing without an account requires no personal data at all.

8. Keeping data safe

We use HTTPS for every connection, secure password hashing, and CSRF protection on all form submissions. We take reasonable steps to protect your data, though no online service can promise absolute security.

9. Updates to this policy

We may revise this policy over time. Material changes will be marked by an updated effective date on this page, and registered users may be notified by email where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised policy.
